Santa Fe at the Four Seasons: Our Recent Family Vacation

Travel

A Family Adventure

Santa Fe at the Four Seasons Rancho Encantado was everything we needed in a family vacation! As I was looking for a destination for this family adventure, I knew I wanted somewhere fall-friendly, unique, and that had a Four Seasons hotel. Santa Fe did not disappoint! In all of our travels, we have never been somewhere like Santa Fe. It is full of history and spectacular architecture. The weather in September was also the perfect temperature; while it was still hot at home, Santa Fe had already welcomed the chilly fall air. I knew we would have fun but I wasn’t expecting the adventure that was waiting for us. If you are looking for your next family vacation destination, check out all the reasons I would recommend Santa Fe.

Stay Four Seasons

No matter where I go, one of my favorite places to stay is The Four Seasons. The attention to detail and the effort to go above and beyond is amazing. I can always expect a comfortable and very kid-friendly stay, but it’s more than that. The Four Seasons curates every experience to the local City that it’s in – the decor, the food, the activities – they all help you appreciate where you are. The Four Seasons Santa Fe Resort Rancho Encantado was no different.

We stayed in an Interconnecting Two Bedroom Deluxe Casita and it was perfect for us. The girls had their space and we had ours but we were still together. My husband and I had a king bed and the girls had two twins in their room. We also had our own bathroom and outdoor seating patio in both rooms. And we even each had a fireplace, which the hotel team can come and turn on for you at night. The fireplace was a great place for us to spend the night hanging out as a family.

To Do Santa Fe

We had the perfect balance of staying in and exploring on this trip. Here are some of the activities we got to experience that I would recommend:

  • Drive to Santa Fe plaza and walk around
  • Visit the cathedral basilica
  • Explore art galleries
  • Visit the local museums
  • Window shop for collectable rugs
  • Visit the institution of American Indian Art

And our highlight experiences:

  • Do the Hot Air Ballon Ride!
  • An architecture and history tour around Santa Fe

We had so much fun with all of these activities, especially our highlight experiences. On the architecture tour, we were able to visit the oldest house in the US! And the hot air balloon ride over Santa Fe was a once in a lifetime experience. I know it seems scary but we all enjoyed it even though we are all scared of heights. The girls even got to ”drive” the balloon for a little while! Another thing that makes The Four Seasons great is that they make it so easy to book adventures through them. Many of the local activities we did, like the hot air balloon ride and the architecture tour, we booked directly through the hotel. The team can help you organize tickets, travel, and times.

To Eat Santa Fe

Truthfully, when it came to food this trip, we mainly ate at Terra and did room service because not only is the staff amazing but the food was delicious every time! But Santa Fe is also home to some great restaurants. If you want to eat in town, check out:
