A Few of My Favorite Things: August

Lifestyle

Hi friends,

I wanted to share a few of my favorite things that have made me happy over the past month. Some of these things I’ve had for a little while but I wanted to see of they truly made a difference in my day-to-day life. I have gotten a some questions about if my juicer and my Peloton were worth it, so I hope this helps!

A Few of My Favorite Things

iPad and Apple Pencil

Having an iPad is great because you have a device that is sleeker than a laptop but bigger than a phone and still easy to carry around with you. But having a stylus pencil to go with your iPad is a game-changer. I find that I use my iPad more now and that’s because with the pencil, I’m able to edit things easily like documents and pictures.

I’m also making use of my calendar like I never did before. The hardest thing about using a paper planner for me is that I can’t go back and make edits if I make a mistake. So I used to buy all these pretty planners and only use them for a little while. Now my calendar stays up-to-date. and of course I can still do all of my favorite things on the iPad like watch shows. So it just helps me in general. And for me personally, because I have carpel tunnel, this helps so I don’t have to use my fingers or twist my wrists.

Favorite Fall-Ready Sweaters

St. John’s Bay Womens Long Sleeve Red Striped Pullover Sweater and St. John’s Bay ”Chill” Womens Crew Neck Long Sleeve Pullover Sweater

It’s finally fall again and I love sweaters for chilly weather. I’m not really big on jackets or coats, even in the winter. So I really wear my sweaters. They make me feel cozy and that helps even at work because it tends to be cold in the office. These two are my first sweater purchases of the season and I really like them. They are warm, cute, and good quality. The best part is, they’re both on clearance for less than $10 right now.

Peloton Tread

I love my Peloton Tread! It has made daily exercise so much easier for me. I’m able to run more without leaving the house. This is really beneficial when you have kids because you can work out anytime. Usually, I work out when they go to bed or they’re watching tv and it has been really convenient for me. I’m actually in a 100-mile run challenge with a group of friends and I have been able to hold the top 3 spot because of my Peloton. I know there’s a lot of questions about its value…for me, it has definitely been worth it.

Weighted Blanket

When I first heard about weighted blankets, I saw something that talked about how they are good for your mental health and they help you sleep. I didn’t get one until recently but I’m glad I did. It really does help me sleep better and I find that I’m more comfortable when I go to bed. It feels like a hug on top of you. If you are someone that has a hard time falling asleep or you get anxiety during things like thunderstorms, I think this really is worth looking into.

Nama J2 Cold Press Juicer

I love everything on this list but the J2 Juicer is probably my #1 favorite item. It has changed my day-to-day diet habits for the better. I’m getting so much more fruits and vegetables in my diet without trying too hard. It has also encouraged other self-care behaviors in my life. I go to the farmer’s market almost weekly now to get my ingredients and that makes me so happy. I get out of the house and I’m surrounded by healthy options. The juicer is also versatile so you can do more with it than just juice. You can also use it to make smoothies and plant-based milks as well as soups and sauces. You can get the J2 Juicer in white or black and I like that because it looks nice in my kitchen.

If the price tag is your biggest hesitation, I get that. You can check out the J1 Juicer for a more affordable option; they’re really similar. There’s a compare page on the website so you can decide which is better for you.
