From EuroTrip to Staycation
This summer, my cousin and I mapped out the European tour of a lifetime. We started talking about taking a trip sometime last year, and got really serious into planning as we stepped into 2018. We decided that Summer ’18 was going to be our travel journey summer. We planned for so many countries, from France to Portugal, Spain to Belgium. We even booked most of our flights and hotels. Then, two weeks before our adventure, it all got c-a-n-c-e-l-e-d. I got sick. Needless to say, we were both broken hearted, but we knew that self-care was more important.
Then, like a gift at the best time ever, I booked a staycation at the Ironworks Hotel in Indy. Y’all. Can we say perfect timing? As sick, tired, and down-in-the-dumps as I was, the Ironworks was exactly what I needed to lift my spirits and replace my European adventure.
The Ironworks Hotel Indy
Trendy: It’s not a word we usually use to describe Indianapolis. However, the Ironworks Hotel Indy is changing that. With its rustic decor, personable staff, many amenities, and prime location, the Ironworks is the definition of trendy at super affordable rates.
I love how attentive the Ironworks staff is, while at the same time, they don’t bother you unless you want something. I also appreciate the intimacy of the hotel; you need your room key card to operate the elevators and it only takes you to your assigned floor (because of this, you barely bump into anyone). The rustic decor was just beautiful with so much attention to detail. The rain shower and the fire pit in my room were the perfect way to end the evening on the terrace. I loved my staycation at the Ironworks Hotel Indy. Read about the highlights of my stay and check out my pictures below! I definitely recommend a stay at the Ironworks Hotel Indy.
Amenities:
The Ironworks offers parking and shuttle services for free. Who else does that?! They also offer all kinds of other amazing amenities such as “room service, on-site restaurants, valet parking, dry cleaning, three huge meeting rooms , on-site spa services,” and proximity to so much of what Indy has to offer, including The Keystone Fashion Mall and Castleton Square Mall. I took advantage of the spa connected to the hotel called Massage Heights, and I absolutely loved it. I was able to get a last minute massage, and the staff was super attentive and accommodating.
Location:
The Ironworks Indy is in one of the best locations in town because it is just off of Interstate 465 (which makes it so easy to get around Indianapolis), Marott Park Nature Reserve, and several shopping plazas.
Onsite Restaurants include Provision, Daredevil Hall, Rize, and Blue Sushi Sake Grill, which offer a variation of options from bar settings, organic meals, and sushi. The lobby is connected to Provision, which is where I had dinner. The food and the service were absolutely amazing. There is also a brunch spot downstairs but guests can order room service straight from Rize Restaurant. The food arrived in less than 15 minutes and it was delicious.
Other restaurants nearby include Ruth’s Chris Steak House, B-Spot Burgers, Yolk, Sangiovese, The Cheesecake Factory. For a foodie like me, I was in wonderland. The struggle was real when it came down to deciding which of these options to go with. Would you believe me if I said I had a little of everything in the two days I was there? Lol!
In the same plaza you can find Orange Theory Fitness, G Michael Salon, Vogue Nail Spa, and Massage Heights. Just nearby there is Landmark’s Keystone Art Cinema, the Monon Trail, The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, Conner Prairie Interactive History Par and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Overall:
Whether you’re looking for a place to land in Indianapolis, to book a staycation in your own City, or simply to enjoy a nice meal at a trendy hotel, Ironworks Hotel Indy is the spot for you. I loved my day trip at the Ironworks thanks to the beautiful rustic wood accents, the convenience of location and services, and especially the attentive and accommodating staff. I highly recommend a visit (or in my case, many visits) to the Ironworks Hotel Indy. I can’t wait for my next stay!
