Sun, Sand, and Unforgettable Memories
The Cayman Islands weren’t exactly at the top of my list for a family vacation until I stumbled upon Botánica, a collection of stunning cottages near the iconic Seven Mile Beach. With its easy beach access, family-friendly vibe, and promise of unforgettable adventures, the Cayman Islands quickly became our perfect getaway spot.
A Brief History of Grand Cayman
Known for its pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant marine life, Grand Cayman is the largest of the Cayman Islands. With a rich history that dates back to the 1500s, it’s now a bustling financial center and a beloved tourist destination, celebrated for its luxurious resorts and vacation-ready atmosphere.

Upon arriving at Botánica, it was clear we’d made the right choice. The cottages were a perfect mix of comfort and elegance, set just steps from Seven Mile Beach and close to restaurants, shops, and downtown Georgetown.
Renting a Car: A Must for Exploring the Island
Getting a car was a game-changer. It freed us to explore Grand Cayman at our pace, uncovering spots like the Cayman Crystal Caves and the breathtaking Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Garden. Adjusting to left-side driving was quick and soon felt natural.

We had some amazing curry goat, fresh seafood, and so many different food types. Every meal exceeded our expectations. Here were some of our favorite places:
More Than Just an Adventure, a Family Time Capsule
While we packed our days with exciting activities, we also made sure to carve out time for simply relaxing and spending time together as a family.
